Atomic Clock Sync connects to one of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) time servers in the USA and compares the time of your computer with the time on the NIST servers.
It will then display the difference between your system and the servers and, if it exceeds 15 seconds, prompt you to adjust your computer's time by that amount.
The overall error in this comparison should be no worse than +/- 5 seconds under all circumstances, and in most cases will be well below this value.
